Married with Schoolwork...

I am sorry to my readers that I have not been doing a very good job of keeping this freakin' thing up-to-date, but alas, school has started, and most of my time is now spent reading books and doing labwork. David and I have been married for almost three weeks now, and so far everything has been pretty much the same. We had no honeymoon period because we both had to be back at work and school almost immediately, but we had an AMAZING wedding, so what more can you ask for! After the reception we rode away in the horse-drawn carriage while everyone left, and it was supposed to really be the first time we got to be alone as a married couple. But of course that didn't happen, and while we were riding along two stray dogs started to chase the carriage and tried to bite the horse! The driver had the beat them off with the horse whip, literally! It was our first married adventure. Our seconf was trying to track down Monica after the recpetion since she left her wallet in the recpetion hall, and she was almost to Temple when she had to turn around to come get it. She felt so bad because Dave and I were already in our room, but we were STARVING so we were just eating the food the staff had set out for us! They also left us a huge pitcher of margaritas, which were delicious! She got her wallet successfully, and we had a nice relaxing night in the Baylor Suit. However, I am afraid it was not the extremely romantic night it was supposed to be because I was EXHAUSTED! I don't think I have been that tired in a very long time. Adding to my tiredness was the fact that we got up and left the next morning at about 7:45 so we could get home before Christine, Kelsey, and Courtney left to go back to Gemany. That day we did get to open gifts, which was really fun! It was like Christmas!!

In general, the wedding was a huge success; there are not a lot of things that I can criticize. It was exactly what I have always wanted, and it took a lot of hard work to get it together. It paid off, and I have gotten nothing but compliments about the ceremony, location, etc. David and I loved having all of you there to celebrate our relationship with us!!

Since the wedding, things have returned to normal, just with much better kitchen appliances! My favorite thing I got was the George Foreman G5 Next Grilleration Grill!! It is the one thing I REALLY wanted. We have started the process of combining our assets, with health insurance first and foremost on our list. I have not changed my name yet officially, but on some things, like our insurance, I am now Mary Elizabeth Webster! It is very strange, but not at the same time. By December I will officially be Mary Beth Webster, so look for the changes to occur!!

At work things have been hectic leading up to the Dr Pepper Bottlers Convention in Las Vegas that Jennie, Jack, his wife Linda, and myself will be attending next week. I am so excited, if I start thinking about it too much I can't focus on my normal stuff I have to do!! I have never been to Las Vegas, so this trip is going to be an amazing new experience for me, as well as a great job opportunity for me. I am going to try and update my blog everyday while I am there since everyday is going to be packed with stuff that warrants pictures and comments. However, I am going to be dependent on the Starbucks across the street from the hotel for my internet since the hotel thinks it is appropriate to charge $11.00 per night in addition to the $300+ per night rooms we are staying in. I will be updating the Museum's blog as well, so make sure you check out both! My blog will have more stuff about the after-hours stuff we do, and the Museum blog will be more about the convention events. Both are sure to excite!!

One Week and Counting...

Well, it is Sunday the 27th, and I will officially be married in one week and about 6 hours!! Yesterday was my Bridal Tea hosted by friends of my mother, and it was so fun! Mainly because there was a lot of amazing food and I got to open presents the whole time. Only after I got everything back to the house did I realize that I had to write thank you notes for all of them, but I went ahead and did that last night. Go me!! The next week will be crazy! I come back home on Wednesday night, which is also when my grandparents on my mom's side get into town. Thursday is when my dad's parents get here, and also when Christine, Kelsey, and Courtney (our friends from Germany) arrive. Christine and the girls have never seen the new house or DJ or the two youngest kittens, so that should be fun! David's entire extended family will get here sometime next week too, but thankfully many of them won't come until the day of the wedding. There are just so many of them!!

In other news, everyone needs to check out the DPM's Blog and website!! I have done a lot of work on them, and they are totally the place to be on the internet now!! I am in the process of adding an e-card service, a FAQs service, and the guestbook service is already in place on the blog only. In completely unrelated news, check out the Wide World of Waco Eats under my links!!

And this is DJ as of about an hour ago. SO CUTE!!
